President Ruto has selected Amin Mohamed Ibrahim as the new Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), replacing George Kinoti.
However, Amin Mohamed Ibrahim has been serving as the director of the Police Internal Affairs Unit. He has served the police services almost for 30 years.
He has held senior positions, including being the director of investigations at the DCI headquarters. Also He has also served as the director of Banking Fraud Unit.
Just to add, he was also the Rift Valley regional DCI boss in 2007 when the country witnessed the post-election violence. By this time he holds the rank of senior assistant inspector general of police.
