Asamoah Gyan ordered to pay ex-wife GHC25,000 monthly stipend in divorce settlement

Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Ghana national team, has been ordered by a Ghanaian court to pay his ex-wife a monthly stipend of GHC25,000 in a divorce settlement, for the upkeep of their three children.

Gyan is a former striker who played for a number of clubs, including Sunderland, Al Ain, and Kayserispor. He is currently a free agent.

Gyan and his wife have been in a legal battle for three years, following allegations that the footballer had been unfaithful to his wife. Gyan also claimed that the three children he had with Gifty were not his.

However, Gyan was ordered by the court to take a DNA test to disprove the claims that the children were not his. The results of the test showed that Gyan, who is 37 years old, is the biological father of the three children.

The court also ruled that Gifty Gyan did not contribute to the purchase of the assets because she was solely responsible for raising their three children while Gyan was busy with his career.

The settlement is believed to be one of the biggest divorce settlements in Ghanaian history. The divorce was finalized on October 27, 2023. Gyan and Gifty Gyan were married in 2005 and have three children together.
