Augustine Okrah Joins Yanga SC

Augustine Okrah, the former Simba SC winger, has officially joined Yanga SC, according to reports. The Ghanaian international has signed a two-year contract with the Jangwani giants.

The news of Okrah’s move to Yanga first emerged on Thursday, December 28. Sources close to the player and Yanga confirmed that the deal was done and that Okrah had already arrived in Tanzania.

Okrah, who is 29 years old, played for Simba SC during the 2022/23 season. He scored four goals and provided one assist in 15 appearances before leaving the club at the end of the season.

Okrah is best known for scoring a stunning goal against Yanga in the Kariakoo Derby in October 2022. He opened the scoring in the match, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Yanga’s confirmation of Okrah’s signing is a major coup for the club. The Ghanaian is a talented winger who will add much-needed firepower to the Yanga attack.

Okrah is expected to make his debut for Yanga in the club’s opening match of the Mapinduzi Cup on December 31 against Jamhuri.

The arrival of Okrah is a sign that Yanga are serious about winning the Tanzanian Premier League title in 2024. The club has already made a number of other signings in recent months, including Bernard Morrison, Fiston Mayele, and Saido Ntibazonkiza.

With Okrah now in the fold, Yanga will be one of the favorites to win the title next season.
