Azam FC Mourns the Passing of Team Doctor Mwanandi Mwankemwa

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Azam FC has announced with great sadness the passing of their team doctor, Mwanandi Mwankemwa, who died at the Temeke Regional Referral Hospital on Tuesday evening.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved team doctor, Mwanandi Mwankemwa,” the club said in a statement. “Dr. Mwankemwa passed away at the Temeke Regional Referral Hospital on Tuesday evening after a long illness.”

Dr. Mwankemwa had served Azam FC for 16 years, since the team was promoted to the top division in 2008. He was a dedicated and passionate member of the club’s medical staff, and his work was instrumental in the success of the team.

“Dr. Mwankemwa was a true professional and a great friend to everyone at Azam FC,” said club president Said Salim Bakhresa. “He will be deeply missed by all of us. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

The club has announced that a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the Azania Front Mosque in Dar es Salaam.

Tributes pour in for Dr. Mwankemwa

The news of Dr. Mwankemwa’s death has been met with an outpouring of grief from the Tanzanian football community.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Mwankemwa,” said Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) president Wallace Karia. “He was a dedicated and hardworking doctor who made a significant contribution to the development of football in Tanzania. Our condolences to his family and friends.”
