Can Pacome Day Power Yanga to Victory Over CR Belouizdad?

In a tradition of naming their international matches after players or leaders, Young Africans (Yanga) Information and Communications Manager Ally Kamwe has announced that Saturday’s match against CR Belouizdad of Algeria will be “Pacome Day” in honor of midfielder Pacome Zouzoua.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam on Monday, Kamwe said, “We started with the Maximo (Mohammed) Day, Aziz Ki Day, Fiston Mayele Day, and GSM (Gadiel Michael) Day. In our previous match against CR Belouizdad, we were pleased with the way the team played but disappointed with the result.”

“We are going into this game with several goals: to win and to repay the three-goal deficit. The leadership and the coaching staff have agreed that Saturday will be Pacome Day. When you say Pacome Day, you end it more professionally. You can paint your head or beard, if you can’t paint, you can draw anything, and women can paint their nails.”

The match will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, February 25th. Kickoff is at 16:00 local time.

About Pacome Zouzoua

Pacome Zouzoua is a 26-year-old Ivorian midfielder who joined Yanga in 2023. He has been a key player for the team, scoring four goals in seven CAF Champions League appearances this season.

Zouzoua is known for his energy, creativity, and passing ability. He is also a strong leader on the field and has been praised by his teammates and coaches for his work ethic.

Yanga’s Hopes for Pacome Day

Yanga are hoping that Pacome Day will inspire the team to a victory over CR Belouizdad. The team is currently in third place in Group B of the CAF Champions League, three points behind leaders CR Belouizdad.

A win on Saturday would put Yanga back in contention for a place in the quarterfinals of the competition.

The Importance of Fan Support

Yanga are hoping for a large and vocal crowd at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on Saturday. The team knows that they will need the support of their fans to get a victory over CR Belouizdad.

“We are calling on all Yanga fans to come to the stadium on Saturday and support the team,” said Kamwe. “We need your support to win this game.”
