However, Tanzanian and East African music star, Diamond Platnumz has been nominated for the MTV Europe Music Awards for the best artist from Africa , competing strongly with Asake, Burna Boy all from Nigeria, Libianca from Cameroon and Tyler ICU, DJ from South Africa.
The Bongo Fleva musician, has been nominated once again at the MTV EMAs this year, after missing it in 2021, being the only artist from East Africa on the list. And voting has officially started on the mtvema.com website where they are expected to be held in Paris, France for the first time since 1995.
