Florida Rapper Key Vhani Caught on Camera Shooting Manager

A Florida rapper is facing murder charges after allegedly shooting his manager in the middle of the street, an incident that was caught on security camera, according to police.

Kevhani Camilla Hicks, 27, who is known as Key Vhani on stage, was caught on video attacking his manager on October 9 in the Wynwood area of Miami after he and another man assaulted him in the street.

In the video shared by NBC Miami, Hicks can be seen getting out of a white car with his manager before the fight began and ultimately ended in his death.

Hicks was arrested, but is expected to be released after a judge granted him a $50,000 bond and placed him under house arrest.

Hicks’ attorney described the incident as “a clear case of self-defense.”

Details of the Incident

According to police, Hicks and his manager were arguing in the street when the manager punched Hicks in the face. Hicks then pulled out a gun and shot his manager multiple times. The manager was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other man who was involved in the assault has not been identified.

Hicks’ Defense

Hicks’ attorney, Howard Srebnick, said that his client was acting in self-defense when he shot his manager. He said that Hicks had been threatened by his manager and that he had no choice but to defend himself.

“This is a clear case of self-defense,” Srebnick said. “Kevhani was being attacked and he had no choice but to defend himself.”

Next Steps

Hicks is due back in court on December 16. He faces up to life in prison if convicted of murder.

The case is still under investigation and it is unclear whether any charges will be filed against the other man who was involved in the assault.
