Gabiro Mtu Necessar team up to work on a new riddim “Granny Teachings”

Music brings people together, allowing us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. Music proves that we are the same no matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics, or the expression of our love and faith

It is for this reason that six Kisumu-based musicians have linked up and joined efforts to work on a riddim dubbed Granny Teachings.

In the riddim produced by Blakangel who makes an appearance on track one of the riddim, it is evident that music still brings people together, to speak in one voice, to educate, entertain and inform the masses.

Blakangel is a two-times Grammy considered and recognized music producer who has worked with musicians like Scar Mkadinali, Katapilla, Dj Calvince, and many more. His track ‘Heghts of Great Men’ inspires everyone in pursuit of greatness.

Award-winning rapper and singer, Gabiro Mtu Necessary makes his appearance on track number 2 with his luo-laced lyrics. The song ‘Can Make’ samples the legendary Nyatingli in the chorus with a witty luo rap flow in the verses.

Gabiro who is a Grammy Award Recording Academy Voting member uses the song to give life to old Luo sayings and teachings.

Tusker Nexters finalist, Kamwana adds his Benga touch to this trap-dancehall riddim with his sound ‘Puth’ which is a Luo word that translates to disability. He pours out his heart on his life journey as a musician.

Just from releasing a brand new EP titled ‘Upside Down’ that had features from Boutross and Scar Mkadinali, Just Ken jumps onto the riddim with a UK flow that typically reminds his listeners that he is from the lakeside city of Yurop. Times are not easy for almost everyone right now and Just Ken is here to encourage each one of us to be kind to one another.

Rapper LuoBoi is heard in the fifth track talking about the book of Psalms 23 as he describes the current situation of the economy of the world. He cries of a blurred future with no hopes of a better tomorrow.

Pulalah Master who also adds up as a digital journalist and deejay shuts down the riddim with his dancehall tune ‘God n Gun’, a very inspirational song that sees him bring out his oratory skills in a musical way. His voice on the track is everything one needs to listen to.
