Harmonize, Abigail Chams, and Darassa join Apple Music’s Africa Now 2023 playlist

Apple Music has released its Africa Now 2023 playlist, a collection of the top African songs of the year. The playlist, which features 50 songs from across the continent, is curated by Apple Music’s team of African music experts.

The playlist is led by Rema’s “Calm Down Remix” featuring Selena Gomez, which was the most-streamed African song of 2023. Ayra Starr’s “Rush” is in second place, followed by Victony, Rema, Tempoe_, and Don Toliver’s “Soweto Remix” in third.

The playlist also features songs from a wide range of African artists, including Nigeria’s Omah Lay, Ruger, and Asake; South Africa’s Libianca, Tyler ICU, and Tumelo.za; Tanzania’s Abigail Chams, Marioo, Harmonize, and Darassa; and Kenya’s King Perryy, Shatta Wale, and Runtown.

The top Tanzanian song on the playlist is Abigail Chams and Marioo’s “Nani,” which is in 30th place. Harmonize’s “Single Again” is in 41st place, followed by Darassa and Bien’s “No Body” in 49th place.

The playlist is a comprehensive overview of the best African music of 2023. It is a must-listen for fans of African music from all over the world.
