Joshua Faber Represents Tanzania at Durban Pitch Forum

Renowned Tanzanian filmmaker Joshua Faber has been chosen to participate in the prestigious Durban Pitch and Finance forum in South Africa this year, representing Tanzania as the sole representative in the animation category.

Faber’s project, “The Legend of Hyena Man (Tanzania),” produced by Mathew Valerian and directed by Elshadye Berhanu and Joshua Faber, has garnered attention for its innovative storytelling and artistic vision.

The Durban FilmMart (DFM) serves as a significant international platform for funding and promoting the film industry across Africa. Held annually in Durban, South Africa, as part of the Durban International Film Festival (DIFF), the DFM provides filmmakers like Faber with a unique opportunity to engage with industry professionals from Africa and around the world, exchange ideas, and seek financing for their film projects.

In addition to facilitating networking opportunities, the forum offers training programs and seminars aimed at enhancing the skills of film industry professionals and fostering commercial networks. Faber’s participation in the Durban Pitch and Finance forum not only highlights the growing prominence of Tanzanian cinema on the global stage but also underscores the potential for African filmmakers to access international funding and collaborate with industry experts to bring their creative visions to life.
