Kenya Presidential Results 2022 Released By IEBC Today | Kenya President Elect 2022

Kenya general election was held on 9 August 2022. Four candidates are vying to be president and voters also cast ballots for governors, senators, MPs and county assembly members.

Under Kenya’s electoral law, the IEBC will announce the final results of the presidential election at O3:00PM East African Time.

However, In order to win in the first round, a candidate must get 50% plus one of the cast vote and at least 25% of the votes in 24 out of 47 counties.

On 8 am on Monday 15th, Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto is leading in this race with 51.18% having garnered 6,408,388 votes so far. Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga is second with 48.14% with 6,025,940 verified votes so far.

Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoyah is third in the competition with 0.45% having secured 56,055 votes so far. Agano party presidential candidate David Waihiga Mwaure is fourth in the race with 0.23% having gotten 28,762 votes so far.

The above results are from 253 constituencies out of the possible 291. Over 12 million votes have been verified at the national tallying center in Bomas of Kenya.

It is worth noting that David Mwaure has already conceded defeat in this contest and endorsed William Ruto of Kenya kwanza. During his press conference on Sunday, Mwaure stated that he was backing Ruto because he was leading in the race and that they share in their manifestos.
