Tanzanian artists Marioo and Harmonize have started the new year off with a bang, releasing their second collaboration, “Away.” The song, which is a catchy Afropop tune, has already topped the Apple Music Tanzania chart.
The song, which is three minutes and 40 seconds long, was produced by Producer Sky and mixed and mastered by Cukie. It was released on Friday, January 12, and quickly became a hit with fans.
“Away” is the first song that Marioo and Harmonize have released together since the new year began. It is also the first song for each artist to reach number one on the Apple Music Tanzania chart.
Before “Away” was released, the chart was led by “Buruda,” a song by Jaivah and Marioo. “Buruda” had been at the top of the chart for four consecutive weeks. After “Away” was released and reached number one after 19 hours, the chart changed and “Buruda” fell to number two.
The song that was previously in second place, “Angel Numbers / Ten Toes” by Chris Brown, has dropped to number three.
Marioo’s name appears on the chart three times in the top 10, thanks to his collaboration with Moccy Genius on “Mi Nawe,” which is in fifth place.
The success of “Away” is a testament to the popularity of both Marioo and Harmonize. It is also a sign that the two artists are still going strong after years of working together.
