The government has announced 8,900 job opportunities for community health workers. These workers will be responsible for implementing integrated health, nutrition, and social well-being initiatives at the hamlet and village levels.
The announcement was made today, Saturday, April 6, 2024, by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI). The release states that the government is currently implementing an integrated community health worker program across the nation.
Through this program, the government has established procedures to identify qualified workers, provide training, and deploy community health workers to carry out these initiatives.
According to the announcement, the first phase of the program will begin in 10 regions with two districts in each region. The regions that will benefit are:

- Kagera (878)
- Kigoma (1094)
- Lindi (1724)
- Mbeya (836)
- Njombe (746)
- Pwani (480)
- Songwe (774)
- Tabora (966)
- Tanga (482)

Applications should be submitted to the office of the ward executive, accompanied by:
- A cover letter
- A copy of the Ordinary Level certificate (Form Four)
- Two passport-sized photos
- A CV
