Six Suspects Arrested In AKA Murder Case

February 28, 2024 – South African Police Service has announced the arrest of six suspects connected to the murder of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes. AKA was shot and killed outside a restaurant in Durban on February 10, 2023.

Two of the suspects were arrested in possession of firearms, while two others are alleged to have orchestrated the killing. The remaining two suspects were apprehended in neighboring Eswatini. Police, in cooperation with Interpol and Eswatini authorities, are working to extradite the suspects back to South Africa.

General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, Provincial Commissioner of KZN, has confirmed investigations determined that AKA was the primary target of the attack. He was tracked from the airport to his hotel and then to the restaurant. The plan involved shooting him inside his car.

Mkhwanazi expressed his gratitude for the assistance of the community and media during the investigation. He emphasized the desire to bring all suspects to justice.
