Tanzanian Giants Yanga SC Nominated for CAF Club of the Year

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the nominees for the 2023 CAF Awards, with Tanzanian club Yanga SC the only representative from East Africa in the running for the Club of the Year award.

Yanga SC, who won the 2022/23 NBC Premier League title, are joined on the shortlist by Al Ahly of Egypt, Mamelodi Sundowns and Marumo Gallants of South Africa, Wydad and Raja of Morocco, CR Belouizdad and USM Alger of Algeria, Asec Mimosas of Ivory Coast, and ES Tunis of Tunisia.

The winners of the CAF Awards will be announced on December 11, 2023, in Marrakech, Morocco.

Yanga SC’s Strong Case for the Award

Yanga SC had a successful season in 2022/23, winning the Tanzanian Premier League title for the third consecutive season. They also reached the quarterfinals of the CAF Champions League, where they were eliminated by Al Ahly.
