Tanzanian singer Zuchu has announced her breakup with Diamond Platnumz, citing a lack of respect in their relationship. The announcement comes just weeks after Diamond himself declared that he was single, before later backtracking and claiming they were still together.
In a statement posted on her social media pages, Zuchu wrote:
“Hello fan-milly, I had to post this to clear my conscience. As of today, I and Nasibu (Diamond) are no longer together. I know this has been our thing, but as hard as it is to leave someone you love, I pray that this is the end and I can start a new life.”
Zuchu went on to say: “Love is respect, and unfortunately that has been missing between us. As for him, we still have work together, and I wish him and his family all the best.”
The news of Zuchu and Diamond’s breakup has come as a shock to many fans, as the couple had been together for several years and were considered to be one of Tanzania’s power couples.
