Kenya Supreme Court Has Upheld William Ruto Victory As The 5th President Of Kenya
Kenya’s Supreme Court has upheld the election of Deputy President William Ruto as the country’s fifth president, dismissing petitions to overturn the vote.
The Supreme Court in Kenya has approved the Election of William Ruto as the President-Elect of Kenya after the case filed by his Opponent in the Election Raila Odinga lacked sufficient evidence.
The judges of the court led by Chief Justice Martha Koome have said that the evidence given by Raila Odinga was full of rumors and gossip, Judge Martha Koome has said that Ruto managed to overcome the 50% + 1.
Martha Koome has said that the rejected votes cannot be added in the calculation to find the winner and emphasized that the method used by the Electoral Commission to get 64.4 percent of the Voters was correct.
Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission of Kenya (IEBC), Wafula Chebukati, announced Dr Ruto as the President-elect after getting 7,176,141 million votes (50.49%) against Odinga’s 6,942,930 million (48.85%), Prof George Wajackoyah of the Roots Party he got 61,969 votes (0.44%) while David Mwaure Waihiga of Agano Party came fourth with 31,987 votes (0.23%).
