The Tanzania Mainland Premier League (TPL) Board has named Yanga‘s Stephane Aziz Ki as the Player of the Month for October. Ki beat out Simba’s Moses Phiri and Yanga’s Max Nzengeli for the award after scoring four goals in 278 minutes across four games in the month.
In the same announcement, the TPL Board also named Simba coach Roberto Oliveira as the Coach of the Month for October. Oliveira led Simba to victories over Tanzania Prisons, Singida Fountain Gate, and Ihefu, outperforming Yanga coach Miguel Gamondi and KMC coach Abdulhamid Moalin.
Aziz Ki was a key contributor to Yanga’s success in October. He scored a brace in a 3-0 win over Tanzania Prisons, a goal in a 2-1 win over Singida Fountain Gate, and a goal in a 2-0 win over Ihefu. His performances helped Yanga to maintain their lead at the top of the TPL table.
Oliveira also played a key role in Simba’s success in October. He led Simba to three consecutive victories, which helped them to close the gap on Yanga at the top of the table.
The TPL Player of the Month award is voted on by a panel of journalists and coaches.
